Renovation began in earnest in that same month and we have made exceptional progress across the various campuses. Firstly, we purchased ergonomically designed chairs and desks for every child from age two – 18.
THE SCHOOLS
The High School has almost been completely refurbished with the exception of two classrooms, one of which has been scheduled for renovation in June/July holidays. Each subject has access to smart board technology; however, with more and more teachers preparing lessons on this new technology Smartboards are still urgently required.

Highlands Primary now has the most incredible playground facility with the laying of Astroturf in the playground. For the first time ever, the children can play on ‘grass’. The plaque really says it all “The most effective kind of education is that a child should play amongst lovely things” Plato.

An anonymous donation of R150 000 was given to Highlands Primary School for the purchase of SmartBoards.
In addition to the playground, the entire ground floor corridor has been all but completely revamped with fabulous vinyl patterning all along and up the walls. The signage was purpose designed for the Primary school with a clipboard for artwork or photographs that can be updated regularly.
Weizmann and Alon Ashel have undergone extensive outside renovations with a new tuck shop, guardhouse and Swimming Pool Complex. We have upgraded four out of the 12 classrooms and there is work to be done in the library and computer rooms.

The Swimming Pool Complex was opened in November 2008. Weizmann is now the proud owner of a magnificent swimming pool, an Astroturf play area next to the pool. We have also, through the PTA laid Atroturf the main playground outside the tuck shop. Both the primary school and Alon Ashel use this extensively.
