Media Centre
The Woolf Michaels Library is located in the Media Centre situated between the Middle and High Schools. The Herzlia Media Centre is a magnificent combination of the latest technology (six networked computers) and a fine collection of approximately 28 000 books appealing to a wide range of age groups and reading tastes.
There is also a constantly expanding collection of DVD and video material, CD’s, magazines and a comprehensive newspaper cuttings collection. A daily bulletin board is updated with the latest news and What Happened Today in History. A monthly New Booklist displays the Media Centre’s latest acquisitions.
Our approach is to enhance and expand the curricula through multi-media and traditional books thereby instilling a love for learning and reading for enjoyment and recreation. With books under constant threat from the internet, our library provides excellent research resources supporting the subjects on offer at our school especially art, history, graphic design and Jewish studies.
The Media Centre has a state of the art Seminar Room with desk seating for 25 people, a Smartboard, DVD/video playback, computer, data projector, surround sound and a whiteboard. There is a specialised age/ level appropriate room for our Grade 7 pupils. This Grade 7 Library is used for regular library lessons and project research. It is also equipped with DVD and video equipment, offering an extra viewing venue in the Media Centre.
The superb Art Reading Room has about 3000 art books bought over the years through generous donations from art lovers, dedicated librarians and art teachers. The standard of our art collection is so high that past pupils come back to use our collection owing to the outstanding quality and calibre of this resource.
