Meet the Principal
Mrs Marianne Marks has been the principal at Herzlia High School since June 2001, having held the post of deputy principal for six years prior to that.

Marianne was educated in Zimbabwe at Queen Elizabeth School, Harare and thereafter at the University of Cape Town, where she majored in English and Latin. She also studied at the University of Rhodesia. Mrs Marks emigrated to Cape Town in 1982 and has had extensive experience teaching English to Grades 10, 11 and 12.
Fondly known by her pupils as ‘Mommy Marks’, Mrs Marks works on a basis of mutual respect, favours a firm but kind form of discipline and strongly believes in establishing clear boundaries for pupils , attempting as far as possible to act proactively. Mrs Marks insists that the school must be a safe and comfortable environment for all its pupils where each of them is able to achieve at his or her optimum level.
