Our Pre-Primary team, who practise much of the Reggio Emilia philosophy, is committed to making the transition from home to school one of love, comfort and sunshine, giving your child a bright start to their future.

Pre-Primary Aftercare

We know that caregivers are busy, that’s why aftercare is included in your school fees until 15h00. After that, it’s available at an additional cost until 17h00, whether full-time or on an occasional basis.

Tours Of The School

Visits can be arranged by appointment with the Principal or Pre-Primary School Secretary.

When To Apply

You can apply as soon as your baby is born. For Toddler Group to Grade R applications are open during the year, so get in touch to meet the Principal and tour the school. If necessary, educational assessments are conducted prior to starting. All placement offers are made according to the School’s Enrolment Policy.

Securing Your Spot

Enrolment is only secured when Herzlia has received the following:
  • Proof of Payment for non-refundable Registration Fee of R3,000
  • Completed and Signed Enrolment form
  • Completed and Signed Debit Order form
  • Completed Pupil Information form
  • Birth Certificate

Open Admissions Policy

Herzlia is an Independent Jewish Day School with an open admissions policy, which means that any pupil, from any background, can apply to the school. However, all pupils must respect our Jewish and Zionist ethos, study Hebrew until Grade 9 and Jewish Studies until Matric, and participate in Jewish religious, cultural and other events.

South Africa Donors are eligible for a Section 18 A tax certificate in respect of donation to the Foundation (depending on the terms of the donation within our discretion). Please contact hft@herzlia.com if you require assistance.

United Kingdom Donors can apply for a GiftAid form if they donate through EuroChai SA. Please contact Ralph Frank rjf156@yahoo.com if you require further assistance.

United States of America Donors can receive tax benefit if they donate via the Jewish Community Foundation of San Diego. Please ensure designation of funds is “Friends of Herzlia”.
