When I arrived at the Habonim campsite on visitor’s day I bumped into Simone (Cagnazzo) Mizrahi and Aviva (Farkas) Ezra. We hadn’t all seen each other since 1982! We thought it would be nice to catch up and so within a few days the word was out to have a Class of 1982 reunion.
Stephen Glanz generously offered his home with a vista of Bantry Bay with the South Atlantic glistening in the late afternoon sunshine. There were 10 girls and 10 boys, some of whom hadn’t seen each other since Matric. The 37 years fell by as the G & T’s flowed lending itself to a relaxed gathering of old classmates catching up on each other’s life journeys. Some of the shared stories were sad, some of them uplifting, but we all were united by our Herzlian lifelong bond.
We felt we were so fortunate to have had an incredibly special year group. It was truly enjoyable to all get together again and we can’t wait for the next Class of 1982 reunion. Rumour is, it may be Israel in August 2019!
