For the first time Herzlia entered and hosted the second local round of this prestigious international competition on 8-9 August 2022.
Ninety pupils in teams of three pupils each competed both collaboratively and individually in a number of team debates; in collaborative writing; in the scholar’s challenge [a multiple choice quiz] and in the scholar’s bowl [where teams work collaboratively to solve analytic questions and multimedia challenges] to score points to qualify for an international round. Mazaltov to the six Grade 7-9 teams we entered who achieved excellent results.
Overall – Herzlia earned 4 out of a possible 6 gold medals
Debating – Herzlia earned 4 out of a possible 6 gold medals
Writing – Herzlia – won 2 out of a possible 6 gold medals
Challenge Quiz – Herzlia won 4 out of a possible 6 gold medals
Scholar’s Bowl – Herzlia won 3 out of a possible 6 gold medals
Individually our top scorers were Benjamin Levinson [Gr 9] with 9 gold medals, Amit Melnik [Gr 9] with 7 gold medals and Ben Kann [Gr 7] with 7 gold medals.
Every one of the 18 Herzlia entrants scored sufficient points to qualify to compete in one of the Global Rounds which take place later in the year!
