A Dying Light
A light went out this week
A light of someone I loved
She was a grandmother of many
And a mother of two
She was my grandmother
Mine
She carried a flaming light for many years
But eventually the light has to burn out
She always thought it better to burn out than fade away
And boy did my granny burn bright
She was always so funny and never complained
She loved us all no matter if she was in a hospital or home
She fought illness for many years
but finally
One night
She couldn’t fight it off
No matter how hard she fought
A light went out this week
A light of someone I loved
