Continual innovation in sport and facilities keeps Herzlia ahead of the game…
Herzlia High School has taken another exciting step forward in expanding its sports and recreation offering with the completion of the new Indoor Action Arena on the High School’s Upper Campus, with a dynamic, all-weather facility designed for year-round activity and enjoyment.
The newly upgraded space transforms what was once a traditional hall into a flexible, multi-sport arena supporting indoor soccer, netball, basketball, cricket nets and fitness training as well as providing space for informal activities during break times. It can also host smaller, more relaxed school gatherings, JET events and assemblies and be adaptable to the rhythm of daily campus life.
With this addition, Herzlia High School now proudly offers three dedicated indoor halls, each with a distinct purpose:
- The Academic Hall (High School Lower Campus) is home to assemblies, concerts, prize-givings, and other formal school events.
- The Multi-Purpose Hall (MPH) is a high-performance venue for sports on a hard floor, including basketball, netball, indoor soccer and PE.
- The brand-new Indoor Action Arena (High School Upper Campus) is a flexible, energetic space for sport, play and informal community events.
The project reflects Herzlia’s ongoing commitment to continual improvement, innovation and reimagining existing spaces for our ever-changing modern world to give pupils more opportunities to be active, collaborate and enjoy school life, rain or shine.
UHS Executive Director, Andries van Renssen, said the new facility forms part of Herzlia’s long-term vision to evolve its campuses in ways that enhance both performance and well-being, with “our aim always being to offer more with more choice, more opportunity and more ways for our pupils to thrive. The Action Arena is our most recent example of how we invest in spaces that energise and connect our pupils and community.”
The success of this upgrade is thanks to a strong collaborative effort from Facilities Manager, Francois Schreuder, Head of Sport Stuart McConnel and High School Principal Shane Brorson, alongside the talented Herzlia facilities and maintenance teams who together ensured the project was completed to the highest standard and ready for immediate use.
The new space will also be shared with Herzlia Highlands Primary giving younger pupils the chance to experience Herzlia’s growing sport culture first-hand.
The Indoor Action Arena is now open and hosting play time!
