Each year, during Elul, the month of reflection and renewal that precedes the High Holy Days, Herzlia embraces a theme across all schools that unites our community in spirit and in practice. In previous years, we focused on gratitude. This year, our campaign centres again on kindness, reminding us that small acts of compassion can ripple outward, shaping the world around us!
For 40 days, pupils, teachers, parents, families and alumni are invited to pause, reflect, and take on one simple act of kindness each day. Whether it’s a smile, a helping hand, or a word of encouragement, each gesture strengthens our bonds and reflects the values at the heart of Herzlia.
To mark the campaign, our pupils will receive special bracelets and pencils as everyday reminders that kindness is something we can choose, share, and carry with us. These small tokens become symbols of bigger change: a child remembering to include someone new at playtime, a pupil taking the time to thank a teacher, a parent choosing patience in busy morning traffic chaos…
Elul is a season of preparation, reflection, and return. Through this campaign, we encourage every member of our community to think deeply about the impact of their actions and to use kindness as a bridge to stronger relationships, deeper learning, and a more caring society.
May the next 40 days inspire us all to make kindness a habit, not just a moment.
Shanah Tovah Umetukah – may we enter 5786 with sweetness, unity, and kindness overflowing.
