Innovation in Action: Herzlia’s Bold Approach to Future-Ready Learning

At Herzlia, innovation isn’t just a buzzword, but a living, evolving part of how we teach, learn, and grow. And now, for the first time, we’re proud to share a new video going into our classrooms and innovation spaces with our pupils in our Innovation & ESTEAM Programme.

Since its formal launch in 2020, Herzlia’s Innovation Programme has grown into a dynamic, multi-campus ecosystem that blends creativity, strategy, technology and real-world skills from pre-primary through to high school. It’s where coding meets collaboration, where “playing Minecraft” actually means engineering, teamwork, and digital storytelling and where pupils are exposed to the tools and thinking they’ll need for the world of tomorrow.

This incredible programme was built under the visionary leadership of Michael Vorster, Herzlia’s first-ever Head of Innovation. As he heads off to take up a new role abroad, we extend our heartfelt thanks for the solid foundation and pioneering spirit he leaves behind.

We are also delighted to welcome Kerry-Ann van der Merwe as our new Head of Innovation, an experienced and passionate educationist who will continue to drive innovation and excellence at Herzlia.

If you’re curious about how Herzlia is preparing our pupils not only for matric but for life in a fast-changing world, you are in the right place!
