Farewell to Mike Ford, beloved principal of Herzlia Highlands Primary from 2014-2023. Mike Ford is a seasoned educator with over four decades of experience at the helm of several schools before making his mark at Herzlia Highlands Primary. His dedication to primary education was a perfect match for Herzlia, aligning seamlessly with Herzlia’s focus on nurturing young minds.
Mike truly understands Herzlia’s ethos. His two visits to Israel, one alongside Rabbi David Rafaeli, profoundly influenced his perspective on leading a Jewish educational institution. These experiences were pivotal in shaping his approach to school leadership. Mike’s influence extended beyond academics and he was instrumental in integrating sports, arts, and Jewish Life and Learning (JLL) into the school’s culture, with a special emphasis on introducing water polo. However, it was his commitment to fostering a culture of respect and dignity that truly set him apart. His efforts to instil these values are evident in the behaviour of Herzlia Highlands Primary pupils who greet with handshakes – a testament to the respectful environment he cultivated.
As Mike steps into his well-earned retirement, the Herzlia community expresses its heartfelt gratitude for his passionate and dedicated service. His leadership has left an indelible mark on Herzlia Highlands Primary and, while his presence will be dearly missed, his legacy of kindness, respect, and excellence will continue to inspire future generations.
The Herzlia family wishes Mike all the best in his retirement, with hopes for happiness, success, and well-deserved rest in the next chapter of his life.
Lehitraot Chaver – until we meet again!
