Herzlia pupils delivered exceptional results this year in the Computer Olympiad Talent Search, with several achieving Gold awards, placing them among the top performers in the country.
The Computer Olympiad Talent Search is the South African version of the internationally renowned Bebras Contest, which attracts over two million participants from more than 50 countries annually. This prestigious competition tests computational thinking and problem-solving skills, essential for subjects such as Mathematics, Science, IT, and Computer Applications.
This year, 201 schools across South Africa participated, with a total of 19,630 pupils competing nationwide. For the first time, all Herzlia pupils from Grades 4 to 12 took part in the Olympiad, demonstrating the school’s commitment to fostering critical thinking and innovation.
These remarkable results highlight the strength of Herzlia’s academic programme, particularly in fostering innovation and problem-solving skills. Executive Director Andries van Renssen noted that Herzlia pupils are exposed to unique learning opportunities that set them apart.
