Primary School Principals Mike Ford (Highlands Primary) and Anton Krupenia (Weizmann Primary) were thrilled at their students being placed in the top 100 mathematicians in the Horizons Mathematics Competition.
Since 2000, the Horizon Educational Trust has been holding an annual mathematics competition which is known as the Horizon Mathematics Competition.
Learners from grades 5, 6 and 7 are invited to enter the competition. Outstanding prizes are offered to the top students to encourage interest in mathematics.
Weizmann pupils Luca Dobrin and Isaac Frankel and Highlands pupils Yoni Shneor and Leiv Ramsay achieved top scores in the competition.
Considering that 74 000 pupils participated nationwide (21 000 pupils and 158 schools participating from the Western Cape), this is a phenomenal achievement, well done!
